NetSSL requires OpenSSL release 0.9.8 or later.

Unix
====

Most Unix systems already have OpenSSL preinstalled.
If your system does not have OpenSSL, please get it from
http://www.openssl.org/ or another source. You do not
have to build OpenSSL yourself - a binary distribution
is fine.

If you do build OpenSSl yourself be sure to call

./configure --prefix=/usr --openssldir/usr/openssl
make
make install (with superuser rights)

so that poco works out of the box

Windows
=======

The easiest way to install OpenSSL on Windows is to
use a binary (prebuild) release, for example the
one from Shining Light Productions that comes with
a Windows installer.

1. Download OpenSSL (at least v0.98a) from:
   http://www.slproweb.com/products/Win32OpenSSL.html
2. Install OpenSSL (we assume you install to c:\OpenSSL)
3. Start Visual Studio, go to Tools->Options, under Projects->VC++ Directories
   add the following directories:
    - Include Files: C:\OpenSSL\include
    - Library Files: C:\OpenSSL\lib\VC
4. You are now ready to build NetSSL.
